Income: record the full amount
Record what your client or customer paid, before fees. If you sell online, record the full sale amount as income and the platform’s commission and fees as a separate expense, instead of only the net payout. The 8% tax and the percentage tax are based on your gross sales, so recording only payouts can make your numbers too low.
Was tax withheld?
If a client or platform withheld tax from a payment, turn on “withheld by client” and enter the amount. This is your 2307 credit — see the 2307 guide.
Expenses: snap the receipt
- Tap add and take a photo of the receipt or invoice.
- Check the date, amount and category we read. Fix anything that looks off.
- Choose how you paid: cash, bank or credit card.
- Save. The photo stays with the record.
Ask for official receipts or invoices with your name and TIN when you can — you need proper receipts if you ever itemize your deductions.
Do expenses lower my tax?
Only if you use graduated rates with itemized deductions. On the 8% rate or the 40% OSD, your expenses don’t change your tax — but recording them still shows your real profit, and our comparison uses them to check if itemizing would save you more.
Keep business and personal separate
Only record money that belongs to your business. If you paid a business expense from your personal wallet, record it — but skip groceries and personal bills.
